Poverty and the Brain

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The brain is a fascinating organ that is incredibly influential in our daily lives, but is not often discussed. The brain of a student in poverty is different from the brain of adults and students in a different income bracket. It is critical that teachers understand the brain of students who live in poverty. Why? It affects how they learn. This presentation is applicable to all teachers as all of our schools have low income students in attendance. This lesson will not only teach you about the brain, but will also teach you how to teach to the brain.
