Things Are Looking Up! Introducing Astronomy to Young Children

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

**This session will be held at The Children's Museum of the Upstate.** Presented by Ann Caspari, Early Childhood and STEM Specialist with the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institute: Teachers will engage in activities that will demonstrate ways to encourage young children to observe objects in the sky, make observations and predictions about what objects can be seen in the day and night, and collect data to how the objects seem to change. Teachers will leave with developmentally appropriate ways to introduce ideas about the Sun, the Moon, planets in our solar system, and stars. Teachers will gain knowledge of how technology, such as telescopes and spacecraft have helped us learn more about what is in our universe.
