DHEC has an excellent toolkit created with schools in mind that provides an overview of Open Community Use Agreement. Participants will learn What exactly is meant by Open (or Shared) Community Use? How can open community use policy build a sense of community at a school? How can open community use increase opportunities for healthy living for students, parents, staff, and community members at large? What are the challenges that open use brings, and how are those challenges met in other schools? How do open use policies affordably and effectively address public health concerns, and build a sense of ownership of the local school?
