This presentation will explain the process of how HHS implemented their one to one program focusing on professional development, logistics of rolling out, formation of our Digital Leader Core (DLC) team, and continuing our support for both teachers and students. It will be a mixture of our presentation with a Q&A portion at the end.

In this session you will see first hand how the flexible classroom can assist your students knowledge, engagement, learner ownership, and overall success as a student. I will show you how to set up your classroom with very little financial support. We will understand the impact it has had on my classroom in year 2 of this experiment. Please join me as we explore what your classroom has the potential to be.
Placing technology in the hands of students to create digital stories is a powerful practice that has the potential to greatly impact their learning. Throughout this course, participants will learn how digital storytelling engages students emotionally, behaviorally, and cognitively. Much of the time will be spent exploring and discussing how educators can use digital storytelling in tandem with their current curriculum to create fresh and exciting ways for students to demonstrate mastery of college and career ready standards. In addition, assessment practices for these types of learning products will be addressed through interactive and thought-provoking experiences with colleagues. *Participants should bring their district-issued device.*
In this session, we will set the stage by defining engagement and noting, through an immersion as well as the exploration of key features, how Discovery Education Streaming Plus™ supports teachers in the engagement of their students. Participants will explore each of the different assets and then determine how to use them effectively to engage all students in rigorous and relevant instruction, leaving this session with actionable plans to use Streaming Plus assets in their classroom immediately.
Kickin' Djbouti: Using Fantasy Football Style Gaming to Increase Student Engagement in Social Studies will go over the use of Fantasy Geopolitics and its incorporation of fantasy gaming to make Social Studies more engaging and fun to students. All versions of the platform will be covered and examples of how it can be applied to every Social Studies discipline will be shown.
It is the 21st Century, and yet our assessments do not reflect it. During this session, teachers will explore using digital to enable assessment creation and differentiation as well as the role of feedback in assessing student learning. Through immersive experiences and the use of powerful protocols, teachers will determine how digital resources and strategies impact responsive instruction and empower student ownership of learning. Among the resources used and explored will be Padlet and Flipgrid as well as Readworks and Read Theory. Also referenced will be Biblionasium, Whoo's Reading,, DogoNews and Wonderopolis.

Throughout this Discovery Ed session participants will be introduced to five strategies that use digital tools and resources to engage students in deep thinking, reasoning, and problem solving. Participants will immerse themselves in these strategies to ensure effective implementation into both classroom instruction and the curriculum. **Teachers will need to bring district-issued devices. Laptops are preferred.**

During this session the presenter will review the various phases, successes and challenges that were experienced during the first year of being 1:1.

Today, literacy is so much more than being able to read and write. Students must make sense of concepts in all their subject areas. As instructional partners, librarians are in a key position to collaborate with teachers in the planning and delivery of instruction.
Video plays an important role in delivering instruction to 21st Century Learners. Discover sites to use for already-made instructional videos and how to easily create your own videos. Teachers will explore all of the resources provided by ETV (PBS Learning Media, Knowitall.org and Learning Why) as well as other free sites on the web (Khan Academy, Virtual Nerd, Science 360, and more). Teachers will learn how to easily create instructional videos with their phones or other mobile devices and some creative ways to share them with their students and parents. They will also learn how to create screencasts using a free Google Extension.
